Why am I such a big proponent of generating your own leads, instead of buying them from a vendor?
1. Control - When you generate your own leads in your business, you take ownership of the MOST important part ofyour business, your marketing. Further, when you control your lead flow no one can ever it away from you. (As long as you are using more than one source for your leadflow - see #4 below.)
2. Experience - It's what you learn and implement in your business that makes or breaks you. When you force yourself into the most important position in your business, where you should be anyways, you learn quickly when something works great, and you learn even quicker when something doesn't. When it's all said and done that experience is priceless.
3. Limitless - If you choose to purchase leads your choices are limited to what that vendor sells. When you take control of your own lead generation your only limit is what works.You could have 50 or more lead channels that all work and bring you leads everyday when you're the captain of your ship.
4. Reach - When you generate your own leads you can often find high quality highly responsive leads in hidden little pockets that the rest of the crowd won't even look into. That reach, plus exclusivity (#6) is a REAL advantage that can't be overlooked.
5. Stability - Like I said above, when you take control ofyour lead flow you can literally create as many streams of leads as you can learn to generate effectively. So, if one stream ever stops working you still have many more keeping you going, and that's real stability.
6. Exclusivity - When you buy leads from a lead provider they may claim their leads are completely exclusive, but because you don't know the true genealogy of that lead there is no way for you to confirm it. When you generate your own leads they are always exclusive.
7. Real Time - Getting the right information, to the right prospect, at the right time, is what makes your marketing machine work. It's easy to do this, and automate it, when you generate your own leads. Getting your leads that are looking for what you have to offer the right information inseconds instead of minutes, hours, or days is literally the difference between making a couple of dollars and a couple of million dollars.
8. Ownership - When you control your lead flow you control your business. With the ability to generate targeted leads that convert you can literally become a big shot in ANY business ANYTIME you want. That's what I call real security.
9. Success - 70% of your success in closing your leads into your business is dependent on how responsive those leads areto your marketing message, NOT what you say or e-mail them. Said another way, you can send the best marketing message to a list of not-so-great leads and magic ain't happening, but if you send a not-so-great marketing message to a list of super responsive leads, you're gonna get an amazing response. Your ability to generate the RIGHT leads literally accounts for 70% of your success.
All that other stuff? It comes second.
